Las Cienegas National Conservation Area

On the former Empire ranch north of Sonoita, another very rainy day but it cleared up enough for a walk east toward the Whetstones through a colony of Black-tailed Prairie Dogs. Didn’t see them but saw their burrows. Also, went past a spring where one half was fenced off and lush and the other half was barren from cattle. Sign saying some sort of rare plants grow there, probably a Carex. A couple of good tracks were found in the wet soil of the trail. Rain finally turned us back.
